What else, ….staff is very psyched about Alex Lahey on Thursday so go to that too.
And finally, I have a quick plug/personal living changing announcement. I’ll keep it brief and go into more on other platforms but I’m softly opening a record store in East Williamsburg on Sunday morning at 10am. It’s currently called Billy’s Record Store. (Self-Titled maybe?) I’ll be selling lots and lots of my cherished records at super low ridiculous prices just for you. So please, come by and say hello if you aren’t at the beach already. 133 Manhattan Ave, East Williamsburg, near Win Son.

TUESDAY:
JONI w/ Elijah Wolf & Work Wife (630PM) <18+>
“Love this triple header. Joni sounds like downtempo French Pop meets late '00s blog indie. I didn't know Elijah's music before this lineup, I do now. It's great. Work Wife is a venue favorite, and we're so lucky to have them and their music.” - Alex
FLWR CHYLD (930PM) <18+>
”Move Forward Music have been bringing us sultry bangers all month, FLWR CHYLD is no different. A contrasting yet epic night.” - Alex
WEDNESDAY:
DYLAN (6:30PM) <AA> -
“Going/going/gone this show is flying out the door. She writes pop songs that have the kids singing along, inclusive 'You're Not Harry Styles', which is so relatable because I'm not and neither are you.” - Alex
ALEX LAHEY (9:30PM) <18+> -
“They HATE to see an Aussie winning. I've loved Alex's music since she was playing with Animaux in lil clubs across Melbourne. Now she's selling Baby's TF out. Her latest single got BNT. It feels almost like pop-rock. Is pop-rock cool again? I'm here for it.” - Alex
THURSDAY:
TRIBECA FESTIVAL w/ Tei Shi, Tony or Tony, Frost Children (DJ) & Miette Hope (8PM) <21+> “
“Big big night to kickstart Tribeca! We can guarantee at least 400 of you's know Tei Shi, because she sold the Baby OUT in Nov 2022. Oof, was that a night. Frost Children likewise, big sellout in April of this year, and Tony or Tony are the whacky charmers that had us all won over by the end of their Baby TV Set. I caught a bit of one of Miette's sets at SXSW, and it ruled. Let's go. - Alex
“Both Tony or Tony and Frost Children have filmed crazy things at Baby’s in the past and I’ve gotten to know both groups quite well and they are both artistic forces pushing shit to the edges and that’s exciting.” - Billy
FRIDAY:
TRIBECA FESTIVAL w/ Laundry Day, David Duchovny, Blake & Caroline (8PM) <21+>
“Laundry Day write poppy lil numbers that fill the room and feel the room. Big smiles all round. As for Blake & Caroline - I can't speak for them. It's their live debut, we'll be doing it all together. As for David Duchovny. The best possible WTF we could serve you in 2023. What can we say? The truth is still out there.” - Alex
“I used to sneak watch David Duchovny introduce segments on Red Shoe Diaries even though I was not allowed to watch it. The truth was out there. It was my introduction to sex. The music on that show was great.” - Billy
SATURDAY:
TRIBECA FESTIVAL w/ Eddie Chacon, Mavi, Dreamcastmoe (8PM) <21+>
“A Saturday night worth filming, it'll be some movie. Dreamcastmoe is funky as all hell, coming off an Australian tour and all my Melbourne pals had his set as one of the best they've seen this year. Likewise Eddie, coming off his own Aus tour with John Carroll Kirby. Low-key RnB which will have y'all groovin'. Mavi caps it all off, having released one of the biggest records (Best New Music) on 2023. He's rising like crazy, this may well be your last chance to catch him in a room like ours.” - Alex
“Eddie Chacon had a hit once with his friend Charles called, “Would I Lie to You.” I think I remember hearing it on warm Summer’s day feeling woozy in the back of my Mom’s station wagon on the way home from the dentist. Some time went by and now he’s back after making a seriously deep “low-key” R&B record (Stones Throw) with all-time legend king, John Carrol Kirby. I’m stoked on this one.” - Billy
P.S. Bonus For Those Still Reading. I actually just discovered this John Carrol Kirby ambient piano record and it’s so f’ing pretty I could cry. Imagine if like Harold Budd were to produce Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru reinterpreting Keith Jarret’s Koln Concert? - Billy
SUNDAY:
TRIBECA FESTIVAL w/ Habibi, Sussan Deyhim, Lunika (8PM) <21+> I must admit, I had to familiarize myself with some of this lineup, which is a lovely place to be. Experiencing Desert Equations for the first time felt special. Transcendental, hypnotic, glorious. And how about Lunika? Woman, Life, Freedom, crazy powerful from folks so fresh faced. Closing it out, a Baby's staple, a band as ingrained in our world as any - Habibi. - Alex
