MONDAY:

BRAXTON COOK (6:30PM) <18+> Truly a world famous alto-sax player/musician. That family is.... wildly talented/hot/cool/amazing??? Watch this, seriously. For some strange reason we have DJ Starchild up front (he's back, baby) seems like it fits but I cannot tell why oh well who knows, fun lovely jazzy beautiful special time for us on Monday <3 - Greg

World-class jazz on a Monday night! My homie Quillan put me onto Braxton many years ago, and his new jams are really hitting right now. Haley Grey + Yve were just added to the bill — I saw them play at Elizabeth Street Garden a year or two back and it was extremely sweet. Starchild DJ's. Grand slam. - Carson

CLOSEBYE (6:30PM) <21+> Local sweet hottie nice freaks out here released their wonderful record "Hammer Of My Own" I truly cannot even imagine how they are so productive given these are truly the busiest people I've ever known? Try going outside in any city in the world and not finding Skinny. Try your best to go to a show and not see Margaux playing bass? Go to any restaurant with dim lighting and not get hooked up by sweet angel Julian (thank you for the martini last week <3)???? Jonah? Go to a show, step outside your apartment, they're there.... Anyway, this music video and song rock, get acquainted MF'S!!! - Greg

We love a return show. Closebye new album felt like a celebration of years of hard work. They've been grinding, and it shows. Pilates takes me back to early 2010's, with its driving beat and breathy vocals. - Alex

This band rocks. Top-notch songs, great live band with a lot of stuff happening on stage, and truly good people. The music kind of reminds me of Badly Drawn Boy at times - am I wrong for that? - Carson

Psymon Spine just announced on this bill, you know and love them! This show is gonna be oodles of fun if you like thick basslines and danceable indie rock. - Caroline

ALLEGRA KRIEGER (9:30PM) <18+> What can be said? For the past 2+ years whenever someone asks me who my favorite songwriter in New York is I have pointed to Allegra Krieger. Not only is she folky and prolific in a way that is timeless and reminiscent of a cooler more real NYC; she truly IS New York City in my eyes. So much power in each one of her records. There's always a song that gets stuck on me and never leaves. I'm so honored to have her at Baby's any time, truly an honor. I once got into a 6 month long battle with an entire booking agency because they put me in a position with Allegra that made me angry (and unresponsive) We squashed the tension in so many ways, but what I mean to say is that I would go to war for Allegra, really!!! Support on this one is everyone's favorite songwriter (he's so hot right now, and kind) Greg Mendez. One for the books... - Greg

If you're a fan of songwriting as art, you can't miss this show. In the indie elite circles, both Allegra and Greg are considered to be the next-in-line generational talents. I'm convinced that one day we'll all look back and remember this one fondly... Lovely music show. - Carson

Allegra’s new record wrapped itself aeround me and held me so tight. It’s such special music, she is a singular talent and beautful songwriter. Greg’s record from last year kept me good company in lonesome moments. My roommate goes: “I’m sorry to miss that show. I’m sure it will be sad.” - Caroline

IAN SWEET (6:30PM) <18+> Oh what to say, what to say... I've known and admired Jillian for so very long. Truly one of those talents I've gotten to enjoy throughout so many different phases of my life. This is a wonderful early Hollow's eve show with OK Cowgirl (hi), going straight into another legendary show... - Greg

This one feels so classic to me. I think about the Coldplay cover often. And Leah from OK Cowgirl is one of the sweetest indie rockers around, soo happy to do a show with her anytime. - Carson

CLOUD NOTHINGS (9:30PM) <18+> Put respect on the fuccking name, y'all. This band has been killing it for a long time and we are so blessed to have them in our little venue for night 1 of 2!!! Celebrating 10 years of their iconic cult-classic record Here & Nowhere Else... !!!! - Greg

I got really into Cloud Nothings when I was living out in Portland, OR and had no friends. I'll always remember trudging through the snow and blasting this record on Christmas day to pick up Chinese takeout. These two shows will be rowdy in the best way. - Carson

CLOUD NOTHINGS (7PM) <18> SEE ABOVE NIGHT 2/2 My olde ass dead ass band LVL UP once did a full week long tour with this band and it might have been the best tour of my life because it was just the two acts every night and we truly didn't even pretend to want to bond or hang with each other, which ultimately left me feeling very attached to them in such a respectful way. Love to not talk!!! I saw Dylan a couple of years ago for the first time since and talked about how much I loved this experience and he reciprocated it, and isn't that just what it's all about in a way? - Greg
