LATE: JACK J & FREAK HEAT WAVES <21+>
Double hitter of two true legends in my eyes. Jack J's was one of the best of 2024, and I told anyone who'd listen. Freak Heat Waves 2023 record was no diff, especially this number. Don't get angry if you've played one... but I'm not sure I've been more excited for a late night Sunday show. - Alex
Fuck yea. Alex put me onto the Jack J record and it’s genuinely some of the most sublime mind mending stuff (they put it cleanly as “melancholy dub-funk, jangling psychedelia, moon-burnt sophisti-pop and stained glass folk mutations”). Toe to toe with Freak Heat Waves, whose “music is a heady cocktail that defies easy categorization, blending elements of post-punk, psych, dub, ambient, house, and techno”. Basically sunday night is gonna tear down and maybe make some eyes roll back into heads. - Caroline
This Week At Baby’s Official Playlist
