We love having Jimmy at Baby's. Another free joint, with some deep NY heads. Perfect Monday show, come hang with the cool kids. - Alex
Free show for local legends with support from Andy Boay of a band name no one can spell but everyone knows how to say + Air Waves and DJ DRUGDEALER. - Greg
What more could you ask for, it’s free, it’s easy listening, it’ll be fun. - Caroline
TUESDAY:
GRACE ENGER (6:30PM) <AA+>
Sold out in what, an hour maybe? Wild times. Grace has a VOICE and the kids will go nuts. - Alex
Definitely knows exactly what she's doing here. Super talented songwriter with a lot of schooling to back it up, seemingly!! Sold Out for the kids. - Greg
Pretty, wandering melodies. This one kind of makes me nostalgic for Bubbly by Colbie Caillat.?? - Caroline
DJ STEPDAD (9:30PM) <21+>
Ted is one of the best folks I've met in the last 12 months. A true head, he has introduced me to so much new music through his Lot Radio show + writings for various pubs. Lineup is stacked, this ain't your usual Tuesday late show. Tell your boss that you'll be in late on Wednesday. Billy, I'm talking to ya. - Alex
Really cool selection of artist and DJ's coming to bb, including new rockstar of New York, More Eaze front & back activation. - Greg
WEDNESDAY:
SEAROWS (6:30PM) <18+>
Searows is just going to be a star. It's the way it is. Super duper star in the making. - Alex
Successful singer/songwriter from Portland, OR who is pretty promising!! Sold out =) - Greg
Big bill, Daffo opening, get there early if you dane to call yourself a “countrygazehead.” - Caroline
BABY TATE (9:30PM) <18+>
Another deadset hit machine. This feels like one of those nights for sure.... - Alex
Super sold out MFM show with a really cool rapper/producer. Going to be lit. - Greg
I know you know this one. Gonna be a heater of a night. - Caroline
THURSDAY:
DYLAN LEBLANC (6:30PM) <18+>
Great voice, sweet energy. Dylan's been filling rooms for a minute now, baby's will be no different. - Alex
Seemingly sweet singer/songwriter that feels so LA to me but is actually from Louisiana??? Cool. Sweetheart over email whomst was extremely patient with me while I went through a total collapse of mental fortitude/ability. Will never forget that kindness. - Greg
Folksome and wholesome. - Caroline
DANA & ALDEN (9:30PM) <18+>
The most excited I've been for a show this year. With a track name like "Let's Go To Trader Joe's", and a backstory like "weirdo jazz band led by a TikTok celebrity", you'd wonder if it'd end up a little gimmicky. So far from the truth, this record is on major rotation for me. It's perfectly fun, and feels like it'll transition seamlessly to the live stage. - Alex
True freaks pushing the envelope of what fun music can be. Both Berkley heads so they know their chops. - Greg
Ok so I know this guy for his tiktoks complimenting elderly people on the street. Turns out he makes cool jazzy music too. - Caroline
FRIDAY:
BONES OF J.R. JONES (7PM) <21+>
Feeling like one that'll hit sellout by the DOS. No reason to suggest this won't be a huge one. - Alex
Upstate NY head who has been writing songs for a long time and it shows. - Greg
Bluesy, meat-and-potatoes type rock. Stompin’ in my boots. - Caroline
DRINK MORE WATER (11PM) <21+>
Serge has been fitting the Baby's alum for many years now. Exciting to have him hosting his first BAR party, and this lineup is bonkers. Chelsea Manning DJ'ing the same bill as THOOM? The return of Promiseland to our land of promise? Baby's will be a glorious circus. Stay late, don't miss a thing. - Alex
5 year anniversary for hip magazine(?) Drink More Water - I don't totally understand what it is but the line up is hot and the crowd will probably be hotter, somehow. - Greg
Re: the above, it’s a fashion brand by Serge, celebrating their 5th year of clothing the We Take Manhattan adjacent scene. Lineup includes Thoom and Sid Simons, two heavy hitters. - Caroline
SATURDAY:
BREAKING BREAD (7PM) <21+>
Happy freakin' birthday Travis! I know this lineup already (shhhh) and you won't want to miss it. - Alex
Comedy and Music from Sundae Sauce with NO PHONES allowed, celebrating 7 years of business, always a wonderful time. - Greg
I like the concept of these shows, though I’ve never been to one. Mystery lineup, no phones allowed, mix of comedy and music. Sounds…sophisticated. Kind of an ideal situation. - Caroline
HUMAN RECORDS 004 (11PM) <21+>
Return of Dwai to Babe, aren't we so thrilled! Sweetest operator, bestest party. - Alex
We know them and we love them!! Angels inclusive of Dwai & friends <3 - Greg
These guys seems to do nothing but bring happy crowds, so Saturday should be no different. - Caroline
FRONT: LEE CASH, KAI, BISOUBIZOU b2b LILEE (10PM) <21> New lil party w/ Lee Cash in the front! Handful of heaters to keep you moving this Saturday eve!
SUNDAY:
CARINA ROUND (6:30PM) <21+>
Superstar energies. Half of Puscifer, member of Tears For Fears, and an absolute legend in her own right. People are hyped for this one, and so they should be ! - Alex
Show #1 from this star, sold out, super fun. - Greg
You know her from Puscifer, and you’ll love her even more as she takes over the Babe for the night. Heard there’s fans flying in for this one. - Caroline
CARINA ROUND (9:30PM) <21+>
See above / See above / See above. Still a handful of tix for the late one, let's go! - Alex
Show #2. - Greg
Last Nite.
A friend of the Babyverse tells us about a cool show they went to.
Carina, aka rlyblonde, iconic creative who moonlights as a secret popstar, tells us about the Sedona show last week at Baby’s.
a perfect friday night in new york can always be found at baby’s all right, and this friday was no exception. the bumper stickers read “sedona is for lovers” and after years of sedona shows, i knew what i was in for.
arriving with my girlfriend i immediately recognize faces from across brooklyn and am greeted with warm hugs and “i love your fur coat”s to spare. running into a familiar face at nearly every corner, it‘s as if the sedona show has been waiting for me as much as i have been waiting for it.
as a performer, sedona has a stage presence that echoes the likes of iconic artists through time; dolly parton for swag, fleetwood mac for aura. she talks to the audience like old friends. likely because at the new york show, a lot of us are. she’s a local celebrity if there ever was one.
the end of the night is a haze of dancing to old school soft jams, chatting over drinks, and stocking up on my sedona limited edition bath water (great for witchcraft, i anticipate). as we leave we pass sedona in the entry way and part with a kiss on the hand. “see you next time”—and i know we will.
