Honestly? This is a great week at the B. One of those ones that really makes me have to think through and count how many days and nights I’ll be around (more than a couple). I love 𝓛𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓜𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓬, I love the springtime, I have hope in my heart. See you there? - Caroline
TUESDAY:
NAOMI SHARON (6:30PM) <18+> Sold out in a day. Every single person with access to my email has asked for guest list (I love you all). S-U-L-T-R-Y stuff. - Alex
MFM presents a sold out Naomi Sharon event. Good R&B/Soul. - Greg
This song makes me feel like I hold the universe inside of me. It’s only 9am. - Caroline
WEDNESDAY:
TEENAGE DADS (6:30PM) <18+> Aussie beach boy rockers. I booked a show with them in Melbourne, now I book a show with them in New York. Let's take bets on our collective next step? - Alex
Australian Rock Band - seem like sweethearts. - Greg
If you like sunny, pure indie pop, you’ll be at this one. What a fun little track. - Caroline
FLORRY (9:30PM) <21+> Cool, I love this show! Florry had me hootin' and hollerin' at Market Hotel 12 months ago, when they supported MJ. Gave me the giggles too, quality stage presence. Greg Freeman and Lily Seabird supporting, I don't need to do it again. But I will. I love them dearly. This will be busy, bring yr sweatin' pants. - Alex
Such a good band supported by house acts Greg Freeman and Lily Seabird. One for the homies. Will be a room full of the sweetest people ever. - Greg
What a night. Florry make earnest, delightful, twangy music that definitely doesn’t sound like it came from philly. I think my mom would like it. Two of my favorite bands are opening the night (Greg and Lily), it’s worth a late Wednesday night, I promise. - Caroline
THURSDAY:
THEY ARE GUTTING A BODY OF WATER (6:30PM) <AA+> Everyone loves a fully-formed-sentence band, and I love my roommate Jack Kerwin. You know by now, TAGABOW fucks. - Alex
EDIT: Andrew Baker I cherish you.
Everyone's favourite philly band. Backed by Jack and Andrew, backed by all, really. - Greg
Taxidermists, patron saints of my beloved state of Massachusetts are opening, get your dinner to go and get here early. New track from TAGABOW has been rattling around my apartment walls for the last week. - Caroline
TC SUPERSTAR (9:30PM) <21+> Becoming part of the baby family, and aren't we simply thrilled? Disco disco dance dunce. - Alex
The name says it all - always a good show. - Greg
Every time we have a show with these folks it’s a freaking hit. There’s a reason we keep doing it. 80’s inspired synthy fun stuff here. - Caroline
FRIDAY:
TOMATO FLOWER (7PM) <18+> A band who just does band stuff so well. New album is a clever take on whenever Tom Moore asks me to come to Manhattan at 1AM. - Alex
The band is legendary. Assuming lots of homies will be through/nice time. - Greg
Really beautiful song, I’d be excited to hear it. - Caroline
LEE CASH (11PM) <21+> Last time this was the party to end all parties. The one in the front, the night of true chaos. We've moved it to the live room, full space. Free entry. - Alex
Free party. - Greg
Yay - Caroline
SATURDAY:
BREAKING BREAD (7PM) <21+> Put your phones away and bliss out! - Alex
Always a nice time with comedy and music, no phones. - Greg
Your screen time numbers are dismal. Grab a friend and spend a few hours with some good old fashioned live entertainment. - Caroline
CLUB BLUSH (11PM) <21+> It's the tribute night that has us full to the absolute brim! Come boog. - Alex
Tribute to Disclosure vs Fred Again.. party. - Greg
Yay - Caroline
SUNDAY:
DIRT BUYER + BRENNAN WEDL (7PM) <21+> Our favorite person has found his way into the Baby once again, and this time he's paired with the wonderful Brennan Wedl. Bringing the Cowboys to easter. Should we have an easter egg hunt post-show? I'll go hide a bunch at Peter Luger's and we'll see who gets kicked out first. - Alex
Local legends play baby with friends. - Greg
This song, still, always, and forever. Also, really beautiful vocals on Brennan. - Caroline
Last Nite.
A friend of the Babyverse tells us about a cool show they went to.
TJ Freda, lead singer of Baby’s heroes GIFT, tells us about the Psymon Spine show over the weekend.
I was rushing to get to Baby’s All Right ahead the GIFT DJ set for the Psymon Spine ‘Head Body Connector’ release show. I had been at World Spa all day cleansing myself of the toxins that was the NYC winter. I arrived just in time before Sweet Lightning, the project of our cherished drummer Gabriel Camarano. Sweet Lightning is incredible live and the song writing is top notch. I’ve seen Fantasy of a Broken Heart one time before, but this time I could really hear the songs, they rocked it. It’s nice to see a fellow band making psychedelic/pop in NYC. Enter Psymon Spine, they opened with their new hit single “Boys” and had the crowd dancing from the first note. Brother Michael Rudinski even teased “Clocks” by Coldplay during the set. We’ve been best friends with Psymon Spine since we met and we couldn’t be more proud of them for this successful album release. World Spa had nothing on the way my body felt after this incredible show. If you haven’t listened to the new album yet I suggest you put it on right now.
This Week At Baby’s Official Playlist
and, just for fun, a new one from Clarissa Connelly.
