Wow it’s very hot today. I feel kind of crazy. I know Tom feels crazy cause he texted me and Alex this morning at 9:30 saying he was eating two slices of pizza simultaneously. Therefore it’s perfect weather to pull out your finest Hanes tank top, come get a beer, and enjoy some good live music with a loved one. See you soon, sweaty. - Caroline
MONDAY:
EARLY DAY MINERS (6:30PM) <21+> Secretly Canadian band from Indiana whomst are studied and practiced songwriters. A nice night is ahead of us this special little Monday eve. - Greg
Very good song, now that you say it greg I can hear the Canada in it. - Caroline
WEDNESDAY:
BABEBEE (6:30PM) <AA+> Almost exactly what I thought it was going to be - oh to be young in the city making your art. Beautiful, in a way. - Greg
Sweet and dreamy and beautiful indeed - Caroline
V cool younger indie show. Epitaph is a safe bet in my eyes. My dear homie Spencer mentioned Babebee to me yonks ago, so it's fun to see it hit the Babeby. NEXT2U the pick of the new singles. - Alex
PORRIDGE RADIO (solo) (9:30PM) <18+> Solo show for this London-based artist with real legs attached. It's so sick to have this, going to be a lovely night. Support coming. - Greg
I saw this band a few years ago and Sean Henry opened, what a night. Sean if you’re reading this I’m excited for your new music. - Caroline
Hell fkn yeah. I'm a sucker for solo shows, and Dana has a voice that'll carry all the way to Skinny Dennis and back. Cinematic night for all those who like the genre of music 'indie'. - Alex
THURSDAY:
WHITEHALL (6:30PM) <18+> Just some lads making some rock music - a little smart and a little tame, but there's energy there! - Greg
Kinda feels like i’m in a Pacsun - Caroline
ODIE (9:30PM) <18+> BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS VOICE from this Montreal-based (of course) R&B/Soul artist. Sold out. IT WILL be a nice vibe, for sure. So excited for this. P.S. Why is everyone from Montreal so hot? What is happening up there??? - Greg
Wow holy hell this is so good, it’s also sold the fuck out so good luck. But you should listen to him anyway cause this stuff is like deeply beautiful. - Caroline
Yep, Greg's right, this is a big hitter. And yep, Greg's right, everyone from Montreal is stooooning. - Alex
FRIDAY:
PACKS (7PM) <AA+> This band is fodder for the algorithm. Every time one of their songs pass through my (big) little ears I am enamoured. Every time I hear this band come in on the car radio I'm in love but I'm also scared, we can't listen to that song again but it brings beautiful memories in. If I did go to this show and they played Hangman I will be in the corner crying. - Greg
I had an ex call this “kid music.” He was SOO wrong, PACKS makes lo-fi indie music that is charming, restrained, even a little dark. It’s gonna be a wonderful show, Why Bonnie is opening, what more could you ask for on a Friday night? - Caroline
Picked away at this one with BZ for around 18 months, SO excited to see it come to fruition. Eternal angels Why Bonnie on support, BYO buckets if you're trying to make potions out of Greg's tears. - Alex
MARIE DAVIDSON (11PM) <21+> OH MY GOD there hasn't been anyone this cool since Kim Gordon was born... holy hell. - Greg
Yeah what the hell I don’t know how Alex swung this one. She’s an epic dj and this boiler rm set is pretty damn entertaining - Caroline
When I started at Baby's, hosting a Marie Davidson set was a true goal. Five years on, I am so excited to see this happen! Can you imagine having more fun than this on a Friday? I can't. DJ Haram is one of NYC's most diverse selectors (also 1/2 of the incredible 700 Bliss). Amelia Holt recently launched her own series, Honey Trap, has hosted various radio shows across your favorite platforms (most recently ROVR) and is a regular at all our favorite clubs. This lineup kills me, and it's not one you should be missing. Come sweat it out. - Alex
SATURDAY:
CJ FLY (7PM) <21+> This is sick as hell and there are about 1 million or so DJ's involved as well, most excitingly Yoshi T - Elijah, will you be there?? - Greg
Delightful guy over email, seemingly with 100 DJ friends, surely it’ll be a cool night. - Caroline
CJ is wonderful and these tix are moving. Potential for heavy guests here, a perfect way to kick off your Saturday eve. - Alex
CAB ELLIS (11PM) <21+> CAB ELLIS, NEW YORK'S FAVORITE ROCK BAND - always packing out the house, always rocking, still rocking after all these months <3 - Greg
Another another another. - Caroline
The final Cab Ellis date of this wild residency! These hit, big crowds and heaps of joy. Will be sad to see it pass! - Alex
SUNDAY:
ARTEMAS (6:30PM) <AA+> I was so sure this was LA based on the views and platforms used to host this lovely lad's pop music, but it's GREAT BRITAIN. Holy fuck I know this song actually and this music video was uploaded 13 days ago and has 10,000,000 views already... going to be crazy. - Greg
That song literally has three hundred million streams. Expect absolute chaos from the kids - Caroline
I Like The Way You Kiss Me is a song that I've shazamed four times this month. Happy Sunday! - Alex
KELBY CLARK & JEREMIAH CARTER (9:30PM) <21+> Duo performance by friends of venue, lineup includes our very own Pepper <3 - Greg
Beautiful, heartachey, cinematic track - Caroline
Peter McCormack and friends, is there a better phrase? - Alex
Last Nite.
A friend of the Babyverse tells us about a cool show they went to.
Logan Chung Rifenberg, decorated songwriter, musical savant, cultural critic, and Honore Square resident, tells us about Jane Lai’s show last week.
There's been a run of vernal bacchanalia the last few weeks at Babies, and Jane Lai’s was the show I'd been looking forward to for the longest. I recently swore off crushes and decided to embrace true love – a difficult ethos to stick to at a Jane-affiliated event, given her uncanny ability to attract the sweetest and most talented songwriters and musicians into her sphere. Luckily, it was all business for me: as a hobbyist cultural critic, it was important that I engage deeply with my friends’ sets.
Leah Rando’s performance embodied what I love most about watching her play and listening to her new EP, at least sometimes, which is the sublimation and total giving-away of herself to her art and the life that informs it. Léna Bartels performed a variety of unreleased selections which you would be wise to watch out for this year – I would die for them. And of course, Jane’s set: medicinal and full of love. A better world exists wherever she is. I’d like to apologize for being grumpy at the end of the night, especially since May procured for me an Aperol spritz, but I was just so grateful.

and, just for fun, a new one from A Country Western.
