We’re in the home stretch, I can taste it. Come on down and enjoy some good old fashioned 𝓛𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓜𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓬 before you have to go home and watch yet another Netflix original with mom and pop for a week. - Caroline
MADELINE THE PERSON (6:30PM) <AA+> This is just the sweetest. Madeline writes pop that glows, hard not to smile. - Alex
We're all "the person" I'm assuming. This is like clown pop + fashion. It's pretty unique and seems really wholesome if you can get over your coulrophobia!! - Greg
Super sweet, chilled out pop music for the masses. I think it’s cute. - Caroline
TUESDAY:
SAM FISCHER (6:30PM) <AA+> Sam Fischer says he's "very nice" in his spotify bio, and his music gives "nice guy" for sure. Pop belter, sure to be a full room. - Alex
Pretty sincere seeming Aussie alternative radio style sounding music. Reminds me a bit of Switchfoot, but more modern, obviously. - Greg
This song was huuuuge for a sec. I know you know it. Yearning Aussie crooning. Not unlike Alex. - Caroline
RATBOYS (9:30PM) <18+> Best album of the year. Great team. I've been badgering Tom and Wilson for a year to get this, so it's time to rock. Billy, over to you on this. - Alex
Listening now Alex, this is nice! Can I do the Last Nite review thing (see below) for next week? I’ve been wanting to see Nate from Water From Your Eyes’ project This Is Lorelei as well! - Billy
This band fuccking slaps, truly. Alex showed me this album and I've been listening ever since. Anything that Wilson Zheng books is pretty much top tier, imho. I once asked him if he would book one of my bands and he said no in the nicest way anyone has ever said no. This show is going to rule, and with support from This Is Lorelei, I can't imagine it won't be a bumping party. - Greg
This one’s huge. I case you haven’t seen everysinglemusicpublicationravingabout this band’s latest record, come enjoy it for yourself live and in person. This song is full of little riffy treats, and the production on the whole record is good twangy fun. - Caroline
WEDNESDAY:
SENSORY PERCUSSION (6:00PM) <21+> I'm not the drummer in the family, so Greg offers more value here (and in most of life's scenarios). Wonderful team, great concept! - Greg
D'Addario's new electric drumset + percussionist performances (3 drumsets in the building!!!) - should be really nice, with some keynote speeches and a lovely little soundscape time with some DJ's. - Greg
Seems like a cool idea, and a celebration of the unsung heroes or something. - Caroline
DOLLY (9:30PM) <21+> Night two brings a timely reminder that we LOVE residencies. Anyone wanna book a residency? alex@babysallright.com. I said last week that I dig the new single, and I really do. It finds that hypnotic post-punk rhythm, built on repetition of this screeching melody. Reminds me of Preoccupations, specifically this record. Excited to hear more. - Alex
Night TWO of Dolly residency. They just put out this music video by my lovely friend Jim Hill that features a star/key performance by everyone' favorite local celebrity, Chris Billias (FRONT AND CENTER) - Greg
Back again. Heard the first night was lots of fun. Big fan of Raavi, who are opening alongside Margaux for this one. - Caroline
THURSDAY:
MAD TSAI (6:30PM) <AA+> Mad Tsai is going to explode. Maybe he already has... There are like 7 and a half tickets left here so jump in for this NY debut. stacy's brother is the one. - Alex
POP Artist whomst is soooooooo cute. The kids will be lining up for this one (as they should be). - Greg
Agree with Alex on stacy’s brother. Fun, queer, dark alt-pop, gonna be a sold out show of the coolest kinds of kids. - Caroline
AMIR OBE (9:30PM) <18+> Making his grand return to Baby's All Right, Amir Obe's another fast approaching sellout. Move Fwd providing the hits. I'm in a heavy patch of Madden 24, so I'm hearing VIP 2 in my dreams rn. - Alex
MFM show for this producer/rapper. Kind of a nice vibe. - Greg
Brooding, vibey, romantic hip-hop artist that’s bringing a huge crowd with him. - Caroline
FRIDAY:
TALL JUAN (7PM) <21+> A year wouldn't be complete without a Tall Juan Baby's headline! Kyle Avallone on the bill also, don't sleep on his new record. - Alex
We love Juan - he's so tall! and so talented. It's always a good time with him - he puts on a great show. - Greg
I’m told that every Tall Juan night at bb is a party, so I’ll have to see for myself. - Caroline
EARTHEATER AFTER PARTY (11PM) <21+> Unless the venerated, mystical Baby's Gcal is lying to me... this is Eartheater's baby debut. Woah. Watch this one explode before your eyes. After party of the year? - Alex
MFM After Party for Eartheaster's sold out show at Elsewhere's Hall. Honestly, she's amazing and so cool. Should be a blast. - Greg
If you’re lucky enough to get into the show at Elsewhere, you’d be best rounding out your meal with the digestif, the official afterparty at bb. If you couldn’t get into the show, you’re still gonna wanna be here for this, cause there’s no way this isn’t a ripper. This song is still so so sick. Happy Friday. - Caroline
A friend of the Babyverse tells us about a cool show they went to.
This week, we’ve got a friend of Alex’s, Missy, to tell us about the Spotify Fresh Finds showcase from last week.
Riding high post-Wrapped, but low post-very public layoffs could've made for a very confusing vibe at Spotify's first-ever Fresh Finds NY show - but somewhat-local (Long Island) favorites Arcy Drive and their very non-industry fanbase brought the energy. And that was even after the door fiasco that had a line around the block of Arcy Drive fans arriving super early (you'd think it was a boy band underplay or something), that a lot of us who wanted to see 1st of 3 slimdan end up waiting in line for 45 minutes and missing his set entirely. Luckily I've seen him before, but he's also one not-to-miss (the music is great, and so is his personality - I mean, his "signature drink" for the event was an "adult chocolate milk" w/ Bailey's, Kahlua and vodka). Arcy Drive absolutely brought it, with their brand of post-Noah Kahan sing-along Folk Pop meets grassroots Alt Rock (or what they call "Attic Rock"). Pretty crazy that their last NY headline was a sold-out Bowery Ballroom off the bat of one official single and a live album to their name - so it was definitely exciting to know that even fresh off their debut EP (out four weeks prior), the crowd already knew every word, making it even more special. Watch, they'll be headlining some pretty big rooms in no time.
