June 8th - 14th
It's a feeling <3
I’m sitting at a yellow picnic bench and drinking a Yerba and I feel like we’re all gonna be okay as long as we have each other. It’s been a year and one day since we lost Billy but I really feel him around all the time. Some of you may have subscribed to this mailer when it was just him musing about shows. I know the Knicks are gonna take it all cause that’s what he would say and he’d mean it. This is the place, now is the time. Love you a lot. - Caroline
MONDAY:
EARLY: NBABY’S (GAME 3 VIEWING)
If you’re reading this I want you to come watch the game with us at baby’s. I’m gonna get ice cream before too cause that’s what I did last time and the Knicks won. We’re doing buckets of beers + frozen drink specials and stuff like that. Who is with me... - Caroline
TUESDAY:
EARLY: GUPPY (6:30PM) <18+>
Los Angeles + indie rock, PB + J. It’s sunny and sweet, easy and light. They’re calling it “secular gitar music” which begs the question, was it at one point religious guitar music? Is all music religion? Will god forgive us? - Caroline
LATE: ZEP (9:30PM) <18+>
Unpredictable in all the best ways, ZEP will keep you both on your toes and dancing all night long. Get ready for a show packed with genre-bending, high-energy music and fascinating sonic diversity. - Baby Intern Ava
His Spotify artist photo is him posturing with a bass like it’s a rifle and that’s kidna the feeling I get from his universe. It’s strong, aggressive, electro-alt rock music. He was educated in Amsterdam on the art of playing drums Dutchly and honestly he’s got it. - Caroline
WEDNESDAY:
EARLY: DYLAN LEBLANC (6:30PM) <21+>
Folksy singer/songwriter Dylan LeBlanc, he sings of fatherhood and the long winding road of life etc etc. Alt country for the soul. Knicks in the front. YKTV - Caroline
LATE: BLAKETHEMAN1000 (9:30PM) <21+>
Blake is coming home with a vengeance. Killer bill presented by the goats at Perfectly Imperfect. Featuring a solo set from the legend Oberhofer and local punks Saudi Oil kicking it off. A thorbin ass Wednesday night - Eli
One of the internet’s most esteemed posters is one of bedroom pop’s most earnest songwriters. I think that adds up. Last year’s City of Careless Angels proved he wasn’t just a pretty face on your phone screen. With Oberhofer and Saudi Oil on support, in collaboration with Perfectly Imperfect, what else are you doing with your Wednesday night? - Oscar
Every time Blake plays Baby’s, an angel gets it’s wings. The Knicks are opening for Blaketheman1000 at baby’s all right (we’re screening the game in the front before the show). Are we lowkey becoming a sports bar? - Caroline
THURSDAY:
EARLY: MARQ (6:30PM) <AA>
In the malcolm todd/dominic fike/mkgee field, marQ is a mere 22 years of age, spinning a web of freeflowing r+b pop music. This one’s sugar. He’s moving to NYC, but not before testing the waters at Baby’s. Lets show him what’s up - Caroline
LATE: GIRLI (9:30PM) <18+>
Sapphic alt-pop in June at Baby’s, obviously. The music reminds me a lot of old Marina + the Diamonds. Support form buffchick, it’s gonna be a fun one for scream singing - Caroline
FRIDAY:
EARLY: KEEP & TARANTULA (7:00PM) <18+>
This Friday, fans of reverb and washed out guitars will be pleased to hear that Keep is hitting the stage at Baby’s, celebrating their latest album Almost Static. What’s more is that Tarantula, with all their heavy edge, is supporting this part of Keep’s summer tour, making this a night not to be missed. - Baby Intern Ava
LATE: GAME DAYS: LE KEEP, SADIE, CICADA (10:00PM) <21+>
Games Days: The Road to Third Place. We’re kicking off our World Cup watch party series with the USA vs. Paraguay game this Friday, featuring Baby’s World Cup ambassador Le Keep + sets from Sadie and Cicada. Soccer, bands, DJs, what else would you desire? - Eli
Didn’t win Zohran’s world cup tix raffle? No matter. Le Keep, Sadie, and Cicada are scoring the USA v Paraguay World Cup game right here at home. First of a series we’re running for the World Cup. Come on down. - Caroline
SATURDAY:
EARLY: DANNY SINGH (7:00PM) <18+>
Electronic, hypnotic r+b pop style, I gotta princess in a penthouse. Sexy 808s and alluring melody, born n raised in Brooklyn, his On The Radar freestyle is one you’ve definitely seen before. - Caroline
LATE: BABY DANCE (11:00PM) <21+>
Stellar bill curated by darling Nicolette of Bellcave, she told me her favorite animal is a bunny. Live sets from Bellcave, People I Love, Sana Sana, and The Vacants, some returners and some fresh, excited to have it all. - Caroline
SUNDAY:
EARLY: BRYE (6:30PM) <18+>
Earworms, all of em. Brye’s leading the charge in positive pop music, soft rhythmic thumps and strong lyricism talking a lot about self love and rage and recovery etc. Big tune here. Low tix. - Caroline
