August 3rd - 9th
It's a feeling <3
Big weekend. Were you at this one, or maybe this one, or one of these ones? This big wheel never stops turning. Exciting stuff ahead this week here at the babe, as well as offshore if you catch my drift. - Caroline
MONDAY:
EARLY: SIMPLE TOWN (7:00PM) <21+>
NY sketch comedy group Simple Town, fresh off their new movie Big Break, are bringing their absurdist, self-referential sketches to baby’s tn for the first time, and I’m very excited to see what they cook up - Eli
TUESDAY:
EARLY: LILIES OF DAVID (6:30PM) <21+>
Lilies of David blur the line between indie rock and chamber pop. Each song feels thoughtfully assembled, full of little details that reveal themselves over time. There’s a generosity to the way the band plays together, which makes it all feel bigger than the sum of its parts. - Baby Intern Ava
Big and rich pop-rock sound for fans of Fleetwood Mac (who isn’t?). Support from Sage Thomas and Outdoor Baby. - Caroline
LATE: GHAIS GUEVARA (9:30PM) <21+>
Stacked line-up of some of the finest voices in abstract hip-hop. Ghais Guevara out of Philly, student 1 from the twin cities, and Cavalier from New Orleans. Absorbing regional sounds, each of these rappers are so distinct and prolific. Much to hear this night. - Oscar
WEDNESDAY:
BAR OPEN @ 5pm !
BABY’S PRESENTS: THE BOAT SHOW
Setting sail once more with Water from Your Eyes + Deerhoof, plus our baby Greg is DJing (it’ll be his birthday), bring him something gluten free). Sold out to the gills, afters at baby? I don’t know I’m just kind of throwing that out there. See you on the sea. - Caroline
LATE: ELIJAH WELLS (9:30PM) <21+>
Angeleno Elijah Wells put together a sweet bill with Land of Valen, Ryann Barnes, RobinAugust, me (Elijah Wells), and Nora Belle, all offering variations on lofi bedroomy pop music, none of whom are based in NYC. Give em a nice soft surfacr to land on, could you? - Caroline
THURSDAY:
EARLY: HOLY WAVE (6:30PM) <18+>
Coming to us from El Paso, Texas, Holy wave’s music can easily be described as modern psychedelia with a hazy indie feel. Their songs unfold peacefully, allowing you to be totally immersed in their flowing melodies and the moments they build. - Baby Intern Ava
LATE: SHEMAR PIERRE (9:30PM) <21+>
Have you heard NATIONAL ANTHEM? Shit should be the national anthem, grungy deep voice rap with this absurd production. Whole album ‘GLORY’ in this lane. Jessicunt on support and DJs all night in the front, it’s a party. - Oscar
FRIDAY:
FRONT ROOM: RINCON TROPICAL (8:00PM) <21+>
Love this party, returning to the front. All salsa, cumbia & puro tropical , all free, if the shoe fits. - Caroline
LATE: NICHE NIGHT (10:00PM) <21+>
Neverender is back, themed dance party w djing turning indie classics, think Tame Impala, MGMT, and most importantly, they are giving away free candy. That gets me going. - Caroline
SATURDAY:
EARLY: WORM FEST (6:30PM) <21+>
Wormy is back with a vengeance, bringing this year’s Wormfest to Baby’s with Hannah Eid and Church and State ™️ (feat Jon Stewart of the Daily Show on the drums!). Stick around for a Wormfest edition of Baby Dance as the after party - Eli
LATE: BABY DANCE (9:00PM) <21+>
Mish mash of excellent locals and beyond tonight. Bands turned DJs, afterparty for Wormfest, Jade Street from LA. A night that makes Baby Dance Baby Dance. - Oscar
SUNDAY:
EARLY: VENEZUELA BENEFIT (6:30PM) <21+>
Stacked up bill of Venezuelan musicians with 100% of proceeds donated to We Love Venezuela Foundation to support the communities affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. - Caroline
